CalcCatch
Region-of-interest detection tool for calcium imaging data. Takes raw neuroscience imaging datasets, identifies active cell regions automatically, and outputs structured results that would otherwise require manual annotation.

Data analysis, bioinformatics, and things I build to figure stuff out.
Data analyst with a background in biology and a Master's in Bioinformatics. I enjoy building tools and giving data a story people can actually understand. Interested in roles where analysis, systems, and practical thinking have to hold up.
Profile
I work across data, technical problem-solving, and building tools that are actually useful. My background is in Bioinformatics, but what draws me in is practical problems where the solution has to work, whether that's genomic pipelines, sales dashboards, or a browser extension I built because I needed it myself.
I like figuring things out. If something isn't working I'd rather dig into it than work around it, and I tend to keep going until I find an answer that makes sense. I use whatever tool fits the job and care more about getting it right than getting it done quickly.
Outside of work I'm into cycling, gaming, fantasy books, and reading about aging biology and biomarker tracking. Usually have a side project on the go.

View ProjectPython pipeline for identifying candidate aptamers (short DNA sequences that bind to specific targets) from raw HT-SELEX sequencing data. Scores sequences by enrichment trajectory across rounds rather than single-snapshot abundance, which avoids picking sequences that look good once but don't hold up.

Browser-only crash-data explorer that lets users ask plain-English questions about Melbourne cyclist safety. Runs SQL against a static Parquet file entirely in the browser, with direct answers, charts, and raw table output.
Live Demo View CodeBuilt from curiosity about the routes I already ride, this Metabase dashboard uses VicRoads crash data and City of Melbourne infrastructure records to break down 13 years of cyclist crashes by time, location, and local area. Live dashboard viewable on request.
Watch DemoBuilt because I needed it myself, this browser extension compares Australian board game prices directly on BoardGameGeek pages to make local price checking faster.
